Bhubaneswar: As many as 18 more COVID positive cases confirmed in a single day, taking the total number of infected people in the state to 39. Earlier the day, two people had been tested positive for coronavirus in the state including a 70-year-old man from Bhubaneswar who had a travel history to Australia and a 29-year-old man from Kalahandi having a travel history to Bahrain.
However, the first two COVID-19 patients in the state, both residents of Bhubaneswar, have been recovered and discharged from hospitals.
As most of the positive cases found are from Bomikhal, the situation went alarming for community transmission. The state government has sealed off Bomikhal as part of its cluster containment exercise and is conducting a house to house survey. Health department officials are trying to isolate all suspects and their contacts and bringing them for tests.
