Bhubaneswar: The State Government has geared up to receive a large number of overseas returnee Odias from USA, Malaysia and Dubai at Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar. As per the source, an Air India flight from Dubai will be landing on May 14 by 9:15 pm. Apart from this one from Dubai is expected to land on 19th May, one from Kuala Lumpur on 20th May and another flight from Chicago via Delhi will arrive at Bhubaneswar on 30th May. To manage the arrival and movement of these returnees to their respective native places, the Odisha Government has laid down few guidelines and has made special arrangements for the screening of passengers at the airport. However, the final confirmation and passenger details are not yet disclosed.

Once the passengers arrive at the airport they would undergo a preliminary health check-up. If anyone is found with symptoms similar to COVID-19, he or she would be taken for further medical examination. Only passengers with no symptoms can complete immigration and come out of the airport. The passengers will have to use their personal vehicles to go home. A few Mo Buses will be operated for ferrying the air-passengers in the Twin City of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. After reaching their native places, these people will have to undergo home quarantine for a period of 28 days. Those who violate the 28-day quarantine will be liable to face action under the Disaster Management Act and/or Epidemic Act of the Indian Penal Code.
