Bhubaneswar: As per the latest weather bulletin, IMD forecasts a well-marked Low-Pressure area over the Bay of Bengal to be concentrated into a cyclonic storm by May 16. It is very likely to move northwestwards initially till 17th May and then recurve towards North Bay of Bengal on 18th and 19th May.
As a result of this cyclone, many parts of coastal Odisha will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall. Light to moderate rainfall is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara on 18th May and 19th May. The wind speed would also remain high at 60-70 mph.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea from 18th May onwards. Those who are out of the sea are advised to return to the coast by 17th May 2020.
