On Tuesday, the IMD- India Meteorological Department issued alert for heavy rainfall for different State’s district. As per the report, around August 13, a low-pressure area is expected to form over the Bay of Bengal’s Northwest side. Due to this, several districts will witness low pressure-induced heavy rainfall till 16th August.
No shutdown in Sambalpur For Nuakhai and I-Day
Based on the demand from pubic, the district administration has withdrawn the weekend shutdown in Sambalpur for the Nuakhai festival and Independence Day. As per the report, the regular shutdown order has partially altered by replacing the shutdown with 16th and 17th August, instead of the shutdown on 15th, 22nd, and 23rd August.
42 More Jail Inmates of Rourkela Special Jail Test COVID -19 Positive
The total cases of COVID-19 positives in the jail have gone up to 70 as 42 inmates of the Rourkela Special Jail tested COVID-19 positive on Tuesday. Besides, three other staff of the jail also found positive for the disease. Sanitization drive is being carried out by the authority inside the jail.
BMC Starts COVID-19 Testing In six UPHCs and Three UCHCs
To motivate people to come forward for COVID-19 testing, the BMC-Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation and the State Health and Family Welfare Department have now begun rapid antigen testing in round nine health centers. The test will be conducted in six Urban Primary Health Centres and three Urban Community Health Centres from today.
3-Day Shutdown in Balugaon NAC and Chilika
Starting from 11th August, the Khordha district administration has issued a three-day shutdown in Chilika as well as Balugaon NAC (Notified Council Area). The shutdown will end on 14th August. As per the report, the shutdown will be imposed in 11 wards of Balugaon NAC and 17-gram panchayats of the Chilika block.
