Daily Round-Up: Odisha adds nine new centers for Joint Entrance Exam including three outside the state


Odisha Joint Entrance Exams has added nine new centers for the online exam keeping Covid-19 in the view. As per the sources, six new places in state and three places from outside the state have been added to the actual list of centers for online exams. Reportedly six new places from Odisha are Paralakhemundi, Balangir, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, and Phulbani. And the centers outside Odisha will be Patna, Ranchi, and Kolkata.

Berhampur: An Eight-year-old girl in Berhampur has made it into ‘The Indian Book of Records’. She has astonished everyone by becoming the youngest author to script Ramayana. Ishita Acharya, a native of Berhampur, has written the abstract of the world-famous epic Ramayana in the English language. She has written the full summary in 57 pages within 22 days. 

DL, LL, and VAHAN services resume in RTO Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The state transport authority of Odisha resumes its operations. Now people can obtain all DL, LL, and VAHAN services in the Regional Transport Office Bhubaneswar and all other parts across Odisha. The State Transport commissioner issued a letter that laid out all the modalities. Earlier, on 22nd July 2020, the general administration of states had banned the entrance of outsiders to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Thus, voluntary power, STO, has ordered all the RTOs to operate.

Heavy rainfall in Malkangiri has interrupted the transportations from Kalimela to Malkangiri in NH-326. Continuous rainfall from the last two days has also raised the water level in rivers nearby. A flood situation has emerged in Malkangiri. As per reports, The Rivers are flowing above the danger level. Hundreds of vehicles have stranded on both ends of Poteru Bridge as flood water is flowing four to five feet high above Kankurkonda. 

INR 30 lakh worth of Marijuana seized in Koraput

Marijuana worth of INR 30 lakhs has been seized by police today. Koraput district police have seized a tipper that was carrying massive amounts of Marijuana. The Koraput district police intercepted this tipper while patrolling near Sagar Village. As per the reports, the driver and helper ran away by leaving the vehicle behind. On searching the tipper, police found about three quintals of Marijuana in it. 

After having a fight with wife, a man in Balasore throws a six-week-old baby into the river

A man in Balasore allegedly killed his six weeks old baby after having a fight with his wife. The Accuse Who is identified as Pravat Kumar Pai has been detained by the Sahadevkhunta police. As per the reports, the accused person had a fight with his wife. After which he lost his cool and threw the baby into the river. 

All the Schools to hoist the National flag without the presence of the students!

Keeping Covid-19 in eyes, the government has ordered all educational institutions to hoist the National flag without the presence of any students. As the COVID-19 guidelines, the Independence Celebration this year would be without students in the Schools. The government has also ordered the schools to ensure social distancing and wearing masks during the ceremony.
