Speaking about the reopening of colleges and schools in the state, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik informed that all the schools and colleges would remain shut till this year’s Puja holidays. He made this announcement to control the COVID-19 condition in Odisha. While reviewing the condition, CM also approved Rs. 200 crore of assistance package for the poor families.
4 Person Die in A Road Mishap in Bhubaneswar
Four persons of a family died in a head-on collision between two cars happened near Nalco chhak in Bhubaneswar. As per the report, the accident took place on Wednesday late at night, and all the deceased were from Bhubaneswar. Two persons have found injured and have been hospitalized. Police is now investigating the matter.
For Japanese Investors Govt Opens Dedicated Manufacturing Units
The State Govt has informed that it has built a separate Japanese manufacturing cluster in a Bhubaneswar’s vicinity area. D S Mishra, state industrial minister, informed this while attaining an Indian-Japan investment virtual conference. The Govt has offered around 3.53 square kilometer of industry-ready land equipped with dormitories for staff, dedicated research lab, and more.
Bhubaneswar Witnesses its Biggest Daily COVID-19 Positive Spike
On Wednesday, Bhubaneswar witnessed its daily biggest spike in local contact cases for COVID-19 with 330 new positive cases. As per the information provided by BMC- Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, among them, 191 were local contact cases, and 139 were quarantine cases. With this, Bhubaneswar’s total COVID-19 positive cases stand at 8261.
One More COVID-19 Care Centre in Bhubaneswar by BMC
To maintain a proper isolation process and to offer quarantine facility to mid symptomatic as well as asymptomatic patients, the BMC-Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation has introduced a new CCC-COVID Care Centre at Pokhariput’s AKANSHYA, Urban Hostel. With 50 beds, the center has started operating from Wednesday. To set up the facility, around Rs. 50 lakh was invested.
Odisha Witness its Heights Single Day COVID-19 Recovery Cases
On Wednesday, the state witnessed the highest single-day recovery cases, as 3343 people recovered from the COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. As per the report, with this, the total number of COVID-19 recoveries is now 62, 813. Khurdha district witnessed the highest 732 recovery cases. The govt is taking all possible steps to control the spread of the virus.
Dhenkanal is Under a Complete Shutdown till 30th August
As the COVID-19 positive cases are rising in Dhenkanal, the district administration has announced a two-day complete shutdown in Dhenkanal’s municipality area. While the dates for shutdown are 27th and 28th August, the town will remain closed further because of the weekend shutdown on 29th and 30th August. During the shutdown, the authority will carry out contact tracing work to contain the virus.
