The Golden Beach in Puri Nominates for The Blue Flag Tag
Under the BEAMS- Beach Environment and Aesthetic Management System program, the Golden Beach in Puri is nominated for the Blue Flag certification. It has been recommended to the International Jury of Denmark. The beach is among the eight other beaches in the country which are nominated for the certification.
State Govt Releases Rs. 9964 Crore of Farm Loan
The state govt has released Rs. 9964.47 crore of the agricultural loan through various financial institutions, and it will help 21 lakh of farmers in the state in 2020. Saurabh Garg, Agricultural Secretary, informed that 3rd September is the last date of availing the Kharif crop loan, but the farmer can apply for this loan till the end of September.
Classical Status to Odissi Music: Odisha Requests Centre
The state government will soon request the Central government to grand Classical Status to Odissi music. Regarding this, a proposal has been approved by the Heritage Cabinet. Odissi Music is ancient music and has a classic background. This is completely different from other classical music. This will help the state can preserve the literature, language, and culture.
Cuttack Witnesses Its Highest Single Day COVID-19 Recoveries
On Wednesday, 3303, COVID-19 patients recovered and were discharged from different hospitals from the state. With this, the total recoveries have crossed 84,000 marks. As per the report, Cuttack witnessed the highest 650 single day recovery. 493 were reported from Khurdha. With this, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Odisha now stands at 84,073.
State Writes UGC To Extend PG and UG Exam Deadline
Based on the current COVID-19 condition in the state, the Odisha government has requested the UGS to extend the Postgraduate and Undergraduate exam deadline to 10th October from 30th September. With this, the exam centers can be properly sanitized. Conducting multiple exams in one day can lead to the accumulation of a large number of students.
Deputy Director of Factory and Boiler Under Vigilance Scan
On Thursday, Vigilance officers have conducted a simultaneous raid in different property of Ramesh Chandra Behera, Factories and Boilers Deputy Director, on charges of possessing and amassing assets disproportionate to the legal source of income. The official took action based on the search warrant issued by the Special Judge Vigilance.
