COVID-19 Cases in Odisha Cross 1.5 Lakh Mark


On Sunday, Odisha witnessed more 3913 new COVID-19 positive cases, and with this, the total number of cases has crossed the 150,000-mark. As per the information provided by I & PR department, in the last 24 hours, new 3913 positive cases were reported, covering 1565 local contact cases and 2348 quarantine center cases. The total number is now 150807.

CM Inaugurates New Railway Over Bridge

On Sunday, the state Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated a ROB- Railway Over Bridge in Ganjam. He also laid the foundation stone to establish a new Cooperative Ginning Mill at Ganjam’s Digapahndi. The length of the bridge is 700 meters and the total cost incurred for this project is Rs. 27.43 crore.

Fake Honey Making Unite Busted in Odisha’s Cuttack

A fake honey factory located at Cuttack’s Ranihat Canal Road was busted by the Malgodown police. Besides, the police have arrested one person named Chandi Rao in this case. As per the report, while raiding the fake factory, police seized around 1200 bottles of honey. Additionally, they also seized duplicate Gangajal bottles.

Forrest Officers Seize Three Leopard Skins

On Saturday, the forest personnel in Nabarangpur district seized three leopard skins and also arrested four people in this case. As per the report, a team of the Forest department intercepted two different vehicles based on the informant. The accused were from two different areas, i.e., T. Rampur in Kalahandi, and Gariguda in Nabarangpur district.

New Odisha Congress In-Charge Test Positive for COVID-19

A Chella Kumar, In-Charge of OPCC- Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee, has tested positive for COVID-19. As per the report, he is now under home isolation and requested others who had come in contact with him to undergo the COVID-19 test. It may be noted that he has appointed as OPCC In-charge on Friday by the AICC- All India Congress Committee.

At Least 48K Samples Tested in Last 24 Hours For COVID-19 in The State

As per the information given by the Health and Family Welfare Department, 48,504 COVID-19 tests were carried out in the state in the last 24 hours. It includes 7202 of RT-PCR (Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction) tests, 41,164 Rapid Antigen tests, and 138 True NAT tests. Under the True NAT test, the result can be obtained under just 30 minutes.
