Even the ongoing COVID0-19 pandemic has severely hit the state; over 88 percent of students appeared for NEET- National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test 2020 in the state on Sunday. AS per a report from NTA- National Testing Agency total 32, 833 students had appeared for the exam out of 37, 198.
STF Seizes 4.8 Quintal of Ganja in Sonepur, Odisha
A team of STF – Special Task Force on Sunday seized around 4.8 quintals of Ganja in Sonepur and has arrested four persons connected to the case. As per the report, based on the information, the team raided a place located near Kahsalpur and seized 479 kg of ganja that cots around Rs. 9,77,200.
Odia Actor Ajit Das Dies at 71
Well-known Odia film actor Ajit Das passed away on Sunday at a private hospital in the capital city. He died at the age of 71 and is survived by three daughters and wife. As per the report, he was tested positive for COVID-19 and was receiving treatment at the SUM COVID hospital.
Matric Supplementary Exam from Today in the State
The SOSC-State Open School Certification examination and SHSC – Supplementary High School Certificate or the Matric Supplementary exam will start from today and will end on 24th September. 12939 students will appear for SOSC, and for SHSC, the total number of students is 22649. On the other hand, the total number of centers for SOSC is 88, and for SHSC, it is 153.
Odisha NEET Aspirant Commits Suicide
A few days back, three NEET- National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test 2020 students ended their lives in Tamil Nadu. Now one aspirant from Odisha’s Bhadrak has ended her life by hanging herself. As per the report, she committed suicide, fearing her failure in the test for getting admission into medical courses.
Samir Mohanty, State BJD President Tests Positive for COVID-19
Samir Mohanty, President of BJPP for Odisha unit, has tested positive for the COVID-19 on Sunday. As per the information, he developed symptoms of COVID-19 and underwent the test. After the detection, later, he admitted to AIIMS- Bhubaneswar. As per the fresh report, his condition is now stable. He advised others who came into contact with him to undergo COVID -19 test.
Miscreants Loots Shop Owner at Gunpoint
On Sunday night, miscreants looted a mobile phone, ornament, and cash from a shop owner in Balangir at gunpoint. As per the report, four persons arrived at the shop on a bike at around 9 pm. Then they suddenly put a gun on the owner’s head and snatched Rs. 5000, a mobile phone, and a gold chain.
