A Central team of 6 members, led by Praveen Vasishta, Home Ministry LWE’s Joint Secretary, has arrived Odisha on a 2-day visit to assess the damages caused by the flood. The team, divided into two groups, will cover four districts, i.e., Puri, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, and Jajpur. After that, they will hold a special meeting which will be chaired by Asit Tripathi, Chief Secretary.
The Utkal University of Culture to Start PG and UG Final Semester Exam From 21st Sept
As per a fresh report, the Utkal University of Culture is all set to conduct its post-graduate and under-graduate courses final semester exam from 21st September 2020. Byomkesh Tripathi has informed that both the written exams and practical exams will be completed by 9th October 2020. The results will be published by 31st October 2020.

The OJEE- Odisha Joint Entrance Examination will begin the online counselling process of Integrated M.Sc., B. Arch, and B. Tech in October’s first week. E-Muster Roll for Wage Payment to The State Laborers From 2nd Oct
To stop manipulation and ensure smooth and accurate payment of wages to the state workers, the state government has decided to deploy an e-muster roll for labourers starting from 2nd October. This technology will keep an accurate record of payment of wages to the labourers along with ESI and EPF deposits. The wages will be transferred to the labourer’s bank accounts.
Sex Racket Busted by Puri Police
Puri’s Baliapanda police have raided an apartment located in the area and arrested two persons in connection with a sex racket. Besides, the police also have seized an SUV during the raid. As per the information, the duo, Chinmaya Ranjan Rout and Chinmay Swarup Panda have been booked under different Sections of the ITP Act.
STF Seizes 21,000 Liters of PDS Kerosene
The STF- Special Task Force personnel of the State Crime Branch have arrested three persons and also seized a massive quantity of PDS kerosene. Based on the information, an STF team raided the house of Khirod Chandra Patra, located in Church Buala in Cuttack, and seized around 21,000 litres of PDS kerosene.
Biraja Ratha Jatra: PIL Filed in The State High Court Seeking Permission
Seeking permission for conducting the nine-day Ratha Jatra of the Goddess Biraja, the servitors of the temple have filed a PIL in the Odisha High Court. In the PIL, they have mentioned that discontinue the Ratha Jatra will severely hurt the religious sentiment of devotees. They are ready to conduct the festival following all the COVID-19 guidelines.
