Today the center has sanctioned INR 4.7 crore to Odisha. The amount is being sanctioned to preserve the wildlife and nature of Chilika and Ansupa lakes. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan informed that the funds had been sanctioned under the national plan for the conservation of aquatic ecosystems. This will help nurture Ansupa and Chilika.
4,209 new COVID Positives; takes the total to 1, 75,550
Sunday, the state reported 4,209 more positive cases, taking the total toll to 1 75,550.
The information and public relation department earlier today announced the new positive cases in a tweet. The district-wise report was published in which Khordha reported the highest number of cases with 663 new entries. On the other hand, Cuttack remains in the second rank with 491 new entries.
41 Shops Sealed and 2,899 Fined in Bhubaneswar
Following the instructions to enforce the Covid-19 guidelines, the commissionerate police have tightened the checking in the twin city. Today the commissionerate police sealed 41 shops in Bhubaneswar. Reportedly, these shops were violating the Covid-19 guidelines. On the other hand, the COPs have also fined 2,833 persons for violating the rules.
INR 50 Lakh worth of Ganja seized in Gajapati!
Today, the police have seized INR 50 lakh worth of Ganja in Gajapati districts. As per the reports, the seizure took place in two different incidents. Reportedly, the smugglers were trying to smuggle Ganja, where the police have seized two vehicles used for smuggling Ganja. In the first incident, Mohana police intercepted a vehicle, while in the second, Adaba police conducted a raid to seize Ganja.

As per the reports, woman cop in her complaint stated that she had been married to her husband for 13 years. Three years after their marriage, her lecture husband started torturing her mentally and physically. She also said that her husband attempted to kill her.
The Sambad Newspaper Publisher Dies of Covid-19
Earlier today, the Sambad newspaper Publisher Bijay Kumar Pattnaik lost his life while undergoing Covid-19 treatment in a private hospital. As per the reports, he was about 62 years old. He was under his treatment for the last one month. Bijay Kumar Pattnaik has joined Sambad as a publisher since its inception.
Jatra Party Owner Pays a Fine of INR 50k
Today a Jatra party owner has paid a fine of INR 50k. Reportedly, the owner was charged for violating the Covid-19 norms. The local administrator of Bhograi has imposed the penalty of INR 50k. Thursday night, hundreds of natives of Nimatpur and neighboring villages gathered to witness a Jatra on the eve of Biswakarma Puja. Soon the pictures of the gathering went viral in social media. Following which the local administrator imposed a fine of INR 50k.
