A low pressure formed over the north-east of the Bay of Bengal will likely create heavy rainfall in several parts of Odisha. Seeing which, the Meteorological department has issued a warning to several districts of Odisha. The low pressure is likely to move towards the northwest during the next 2- days.

4,242 New COVID Positives reported Today!

The state today witnessed 4,242 new entries in the COVID positives. The information and public relation department informed in a tweet earlier today that 4,242 new cases have been registered. As per the district-wise report, Khordha again tops the chart with 652 new entries, while Cuttack remains in the second position with 595 new positive cases. 

Puri Servitor Passes Away due to Cardiac Arrest!

Lord Jagannath temple’s servitor Premananda Das Mohapatra passed away this Sunday. As per the reports, the servitor recovered Covid-19 while undergoing treatment at Hi-tech medical college, Bhubaneswar. But three days after his recovery, he complained of chest pain. Following, he was taken to Puri District Headquarters hospital, and he died of cardiac arrest.

The Daughter-in-law of a Cop Found Hanging!

The daughter-in-law of a cop found hanging! As per the reports, the cop is a havildar at Tomando police station. He found his daughter-in-law hanging herself to a ceiling fan on this Saturday. However, her parents alleged that she had been murdered by her husband and in-laws. The deceased Bandana Jena was the daughter in law of Cop Bijay Gochayat. 

Odisha High Court to remain Close for Two Days!

Odisha high court has been closed for the next two days. It was due to the detection of COVID positives in the high court. Besides, the restrictions of the functioning of HC will remain active until October 10th. The functioning shall continue in the virtual mode by video conferencing. A notification has been issued by the registry making the announcement about the working of the high court.

Booked for Hateful post against Maa Durga 

A youth of Cuttack has been booked for posting a hateful post against Maa Durga. As per the reports, the youth has been reported under the various sections of IPC. He has posted hateful content on Facebook against Maa Durga. Seeing this Cuttack unit of BJP has lodged a complaint against the youth.

Gitakabita Samman named after Legendary Filmmaker Sarada Nayak

The state government today has announced an award called Sarada Prasanna Gitakabita Samman. This award has been named after the legendary filmmaker Sarada Prasanna Nayak. On his 11th day of death, the award was announced by Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik himself. The CM has also said this award would be added annual award in the Gitakabita Category.
