Adhering to the strict COVID-19 guidelines, the Monsson Session of Legislative Assembly starts today. As per the report, this Session will end on 7th October 2020. It may be noted that around 900 persons, including Assembly staff, senior officials, media persons, and MLAs, had undergone the COVID-19 test for this Session.
Deepa Gupta Gets 3-Month Interim Bail
On Monday, the Orissa High Court granted interim bail to the prime accused in the Rs. 1500 crore mining scam, Deepak Gupta, for three months. Justice S.K. Sahoo, while granting bail, asked him to furnish a bail bond of Rs. 2 crores, cash security of Rs. 1 crore, and two local sureties.
Around 350 Puri Srimandir Servitors Tested Positive For COVID-19
While there is an increasing demand for the reopening of Srimandir, on Monday, the temple authorities have informed that more than 400 persons, including servitors and employees of the shrine, have tested COVID-19 positive. 351 were servitors, and 53 were employees, informed Ajay Jena, Commissioner of Puri Shree Jagannath Development.
OHR Office To Remain Closed for Two Days
The OHRC- Odisha Human Rights Commission office located in Bhubaneswar will remain close till 30th September. The decision has been made after an employee of the OHR was found affected by the COVID-19 virus. All the staff was advised to remain in home isolation and to get the COVID-19 test done if they develop any symptoms.
Miscreant Loots Rs. 10 Lakh from Bank at Gunpoint
A miscreant looted Rs. 10 lakh from a bank in Bhubaneswar at gunpoint at around 4:40 PM. As per the report, a youth wearing a mask entered the Bank of India’s Barimunda branch located on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar when the staff was closing the daily transactions. He looted Rs. 10 lakh and feel the spot on his motorcycle.
CPET-2020 Date Announces, Check the Details
On Monday, the State Higher Education Department announced the dates for CPET- the Common PG Entrance Test for the year 2020. As per the report, the exam will start from 12th October 2020 and end on 22nd October 2020. All the exams will be held in three shifts each day.
Slums to Convert into Adarsh Colonies
The State Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik informed that all the slum areas across Odisha would be turned into ideal colonies with all the civic amenities. On Monday, the Chief Minister launched the slum de-listing and up-gradation program through a video conference. Around 18 lakh slum dwellers will get benefit from this.
