The third phase of serosurvey to control the COVID-19 condition is all set to begin in Bhubaneswar from Friday. It will end on the 18th of October. The survey will be conducted jointly by RMRC- Regional Medical Research Center and BMC- Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation. It will help to know about the percentage of the total population who have developed antibodies.

Bus Overturns Injuring 25 Students

At least 25 students were injured as the bus carrying students overturned in Gajapati district. As per the preliminary report, most of them were OJEE aspirants. The bus was heading towards Khurdha, carrying students from Udaygiri, Jiranga, and Ramgiri. The incident took place near Taptapani ghat road when the driver was making a sharp.

Hand Hygiene Campaigns Launched in Odisha for Schools Students

On the occasion of Global Handwashing Day, Jagannath Sarkar, Minister of ST and SC Development, Minorities and Backward Classes, has launched a campaign to promote hand hygiene awareness among the students of SSD schools. The students will get regular water supply, hand rub, soap, and other hand hygiene facilities under this campaign.

Ferry Service begins in Chilika

After a long seven months close down due to the COVID-19 caused lockdown, ferry services in Chilika lake have resumed. Under Unlock 5.0, the district administration and the State Tourism department have given a green signal to the ferry services in the Brackishwater lagoon with all the COVID-19 guidelines in place.

Former State Chief Secretary Passes Away 

Following a prolonged illness, Ramakanta Mishra, Former Chief Secretary of Odisha, passed away on Wednesday at 86. As per the report, for a past few days, he was undergoing treatment at the KIIMS Hospital, Bhubaneswar. He had joined the Civil Services in the year 195 and became the Chief Secretary of the state in 1989.

Revenue from Motor Vehicles Crosses 31 Percent in September

The STA- State Transport Authority has collected motor vehicle revenue of Rs. 117 crores in September. As per the report, the state has registered a 31 percent growth over the previous month’s collection, i.e., Rs. 95 crores. However, if compared to the revenue collected in September 2019, it is still 7 percent low.
