As per the report, another fresh low-pressure area forming over the Bay of Bengal may cause moderate to heavy rainfall in different parts of the state next week. Based on the forecast, the government has ordered the officials to stay prepared to handle any unwanted conditions, like landslide, flood, or water-logging.
Rourkela gets Express Waste Management Service
To faster the process of waste management, the RMC- Rourkela Municipal Corporation has begun an express service in Rourkela. Informing about this, Commissioner of RMC, Dibyajyoti Parida, has informed that the service is for the bulk waste producers and two new waste management vehicles will transfer the waste to the city’s micro-composing centers.
BMC Closes Two COVID-19 Centers in the Capital City
BMC- Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation have informed that two COVID-19 care centers located in Jatani and Jamujhari have been close the cases are declining. The city is at a declining phase as for now, Bhubaneswar is witnessing around 250 to 300 new cases per day for the last five days.
Bhitarakanika Reopens for the Visitor
As per the fresh report, Bhitarakanika National Park is all set to reopen for the tourists from the 19th of October. However, all the visitors and employees are ordered to follow the SOP- Standard Operating Procedure for this. As per the report, per day, a maximum of 500 visitors will be allowed to enter the park.
Bhubaneswar Airport Receives ISO Certification
The AAI-Airports Authority of India has informed that the BPIA- Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar has received ISO 50001:2018 standard for its effective energy management system. As per the report, the certification is valid until 13th September 2023. It may be noted that in 2019, the BPIA had cornered the ASQ 2018 award.
Car Falls into Canal; 3 Youths Died
Three youth died as the vehicle they were traveling in fell into a canal located in Telengapentha, Cuttack. The three deceased’s identification has not been ascertained yet. As per the sources, the accident occurred at about 3 AM when the car was heading from Jagatpur to Bhubaneswar. The youths died on the spot.
Forest Officials Rescued a Pangolin Escaped from Kuldia Wildlife Sanctuary
After being informed by local youths of Daripokhari village, the forest officials have managed to rescue a pangolin. The youths spotted the pangolin in a canal that comes under the Dantur Forest Beat House. These animals are vulnerable to extinction, and they are the most trafficked poached scaled wild animal. The animal has been handed over to the Divisional Forest Office of Balasore.
