The state again reports a dip in COVID case for the fourth time in a row. As per the tweets of the Information and Public relation department of Odisha, 1913, new COVID Positives have been reported from the state. Khordha as usual remains at the top of the list with 254 new cases. Following Khordha, Cuttack reports the second-highest cases with 150 new cases.
Maoists Cut a Man’s Throat Suspecting him to be an Informer
Maoists yet again mark their strong presence as they gave life to a horrific incident. As per the sources, Maoists in Malkangiri killed a man this Tuesday, suspecting him to be an informer of the police. The Maoists also injured two other severely at Khajuriaguda Village to mark their presence.
Sub-inspector gets a Suspension Order for Drinking on Duty
A sub-inspector of Nuagaon Police station has been apparently suspended for drinking on duty. According to the reports, the cop was allegedly consuming alcohol during his duty hours. Sub-inspector Bibekananda Sahoo of Nuagaon Police station has been suspended for this gross misconduct during his duty. This suspension was effective from 21st October 2020.
INR 4.5 Lakh Looted from a Bike Showroom
Earlier this Wednesday INR 4.5 lakh was looted from a motorcycle showroom in Ganjam District. The Keeper of the showroom has filed a complaint in the Hinjili Police station that INR 4.5 lakh has been looted from his showroom at Bainchabania chakka on Tuesday night. As per the sources, the thief looted the amount from his cash counter by threatening the employee.
RMRC Head gets Samanta Sekhar Award
Bhubaneswar: The regional medical research centre head Dr Sanghamitra Pati gets Samanta Sekhar Award in Bhubaneswar. The award has been given to Dr Pati for his outstanding contribution towards research. The state science and technology department of Odisha has awarded Dr Pati. Earlier, he has also bagged Odisha Bigyan academy’s Samanta Chandra Sekhar award.
New Sets of Gold for Deities at Puri Jagannath Temple
The Puri Shree Jagannath temple administration has decided to make new sets of Gold Ornaments for Lord Jagannath’s siblings Maa Subhadra and Lord Balabhadra. The temple administration held a meeting this Wednesday in which the administration decided to make a new set of gold. Earlier, a Mumbai based devotee of lord Jagannath wanted to donate ornaments to Lord Jagannath. So, the SJTA has approved and sent the traditional designs.
MeT Issues Warning for 16 Districts due to the Low Pressure over the Bay of Bengal
The Meteorological department of Odisha has issued a warning for 16 districts in Odisha. As per reports, the low pressure over the west-central Bay of Bengal now has turned into a well-marked low pressure. This would create heavy rainfall with the mild wind over several areas of Odisha. So, the MeT has issued a warning for 16 districts.
