Odisha may Witness Cold Condition in the Next Two Days

As per the information provided by the director of the Met Centre, the temperature may fall three to four degrees Celsius in the state in the next two to three days. Besides, the department has also predicted that the weather condition will be dry in the state for the new five days.

CM Inaugurates Three New Sport Facilities

The State Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday inaugurated three new sports facilities in the capital city. While inaugurating, he informed that shortly, the state would initiate some grassroots programs to create opportunities. A synthetic-turf hockey training center will be created in Chhatrapur, he further added.  

Around 400 Beggars Rehabilitated in Puri

Under the NiladriNilaya Yojana, the Puri district administration has rehabilitated around 400 beggars to make the city beggar-free. The operation is being carried out under the supervision of DSWO- District Social Welfare Officer. Under this scheme, the authority has built around eight shelter homes at different places. Each shelter home can accommodate 50 people.

Temples in Ganjam to Remain Close till December 1

As per the district administration’s information in Ganjam, the temples in the district will remain close for worship for the public till December 1, 2020. This decision has been taken by Vijay Amrut Kulange, Collector, as precautions measures considering the second and third wave of COVID-19 in some countries.

Bhagirathi Majhi, former Rajya Sabha MP Passes Away

On Monday, Bhagirathi Majhi, former Rajya Sabha MP, died at a private hospital in Baripad due to prolonged illness conditions. As per the report, he is survived by two sons, a daughter, and a wife. He died while undergoing treatment at a COVID-19 hospital. As a BJP nominee, he was elected to Rajya Sabha.

Around 95 percent of COVID Patients Recovered in the State

The state witnessed another 1527 COVID-19 recoveries, and they all are being discharged. With the new recoveries, now the total number of recoveries has jumped to 2,79,091. As per the report, the new recoveries have been reported from 30 districts. As of Monday, the confirmed cases were 293214, and 1340 have died now.

Anti-extortion Drive: 37 Arrested in Cuttack

Under the anti-extortion drive, the Commissionerate Police has arrested 37 people in the jurisdiction of Cuttack UPD- Urban Police District. On October 14, 2020, the Commissionerate Police had initiated a “No To Extortion” drive to eliminate extortion activities from Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. Till now, around 29 cases have registered under this.
