OCA- Odisha Cricket Association has announced the name of five ex-Ranji players for the selection committee. They are Rabi Narayan Panda, Sourajit Mohapatra, Somanath Sahu, and Bishnudev Mohanty. Prabhanjan Mallick has been appointed as the pane’s Chairman. The panel will choose the State cricket team for the upcoming Ranji season.

Four Special Courts for Trail of MPs and MLAs
The State Government has informed the Orissa High Court that four courts have been established as superior courts to deal with the trails of pending cases against former and current MLAs and MPs. As per the report, after getting the HC’s proposal, ten more such courts will be created.
Celebration of Kartika Purnima and Bada Osha Restricted in Odisha
As per the order of Asit Tripathy, Chief Secretary of the State, the Koraput district’s administration has imposed restrictions on gathering people at river ghats in the district for Kartika Purnima and Bada Osha celebration. Persons found violating the rules will be punished under the DM Act, 2005.
Looters Gang Busted in Odisha’s Berhampur
The Berhampur police have busted a looters gang and also arrested two persons in this case. As per the report, the police also have seized 100gm silver, 540 gm of gold, an expensive bike, a scooty, and a car from them. They have committed 15 crimes.

Abhay Kant Pathak, an Odisha-cadre 1987 batch Indian Forest Service officer, is now under vigilance net for allegedly spending Rs. 3 crore on chartered flights for travel to Mumbai, Patna, Jamshedpur, Pune, Delhi, and Bhubaneswar. Recently the Vigilance Cell Division carried out searches to know about the expenses and asset acquisition of Pathak.
Berhampur Municipal Corporation Honored with Several Awards
Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has honored the BeMC- Berghampur Municipal Corporation with two national awards at the ISC- FICCO Sanitation Awards 2020. BeMC got the Best Faecal Sludge & Septage Management Model (Urban) Award, and the Agrata City Level Federation got the Best Engagement Model in Sanitation by a social enterprise award.
