The Chief administrator of the Sri Jagannath temple, Krishan Kumar, extended his statement that the temple will reopen on December 23. It is good news for the devotees who were anxiously waiting to have darshan of Lord Jagannath and his divine siblings at the temple in Puri. As per the sources, the devotees will be abiding by the strict COVID 19 guidelines.

Ganja Plantation Destroyed in Ganjam

A 60 acres ganja plantation in Ganjam was destroyed by a team of cops, which was planted illegally. The area was set on fire, and the value of the crop is estimated at approximately Rs. 5 crores, but no arrest was made yet. As per the sources, there was a gang for the smuggling of the ganja in this connection.

A stone mafia gang in Dhenkanal attacked five forest department employees, including two guards and five watchers at Karadabani area on Saturday. As per the sources, the gang snatched cell phones and the service revolvers from the employees by attacking them with stones, sticks, and other weapons. The police are investigating this matter.

Woman Dies after Family Planning Operation at a Community Health Centre

Tension rose in a Community Health Centre in Jagatsinghpur block as a woman died after the family planning operation on Friday night. As per the sources, the patient was Bindulata of 34 age, who was sent to OT after the operation of 29 women for the surgery and then later found to be dead. According to the family statement, Bindulata died because of medical negligence.
