Samaleswari temple, the abode of presiding deity of undivided Sambalpur district Goddess Samaleswari, will reopen for all from 3rd January 2021. The district administration took the decision to reopen the temple on Friday. A detailed SOP – Standard Operating Procedure will be released soon for the servitors and devotees.
Student Sedated and Looted in Bhubaneswar
Raising a tough question over the state’s safety situation, a +3-student named Piyush in Bhubaneswar was sprayed with sedatives and robbed of around by three miscreants. As per the report, the incident took place in front of the Vivekanand Hospital. They snatched the mobile and purse from him.
Jeweller Shot Dead in Rourkela
Some unidentified miscreants open fired on a jeweller and then robbed him near the RGH flyover in Rourkela. The report says the victim was on his way to his home when the miscreants fired upon him and fled the place with jewellery. Raghunathpalli Police has initiated an investigation.

Locals Rescue Crocodile in Kendrapara
Locals rescued a 1-feet-long crocodile near Naladia village under Rajnagar block in Kendrapara district. As per the report, the reptile had strayed towards a residential area. Before any mishap, people spotted the animal and rescued it. The reptile has been handed over to Forest officials.

Ancient Jain Statue Found in Koraput
An ancient statue representing Jainism has been discovered during a temple restoration and excavation at Subai, a place of archaeological importance in Koraput district. As per the report, the department has been conducting restoration of neglected shrines, and during that, they discovered a statue and some remains of temples, a few meters away from the Jain temple.
