COVID-19: 263 New Positive Cases Detected in the State


A total of 263 new COVID-19 positive patients were detected in the state. With these numbers, the state’s positive cases tally rose to 3,29,001. From these newly detected patients, 112 are from local contacts, and 151 are from various quarantine centres. 

3 GST Officers Arrested for Taking Bribe

The CBI arrested three senior officials on Tuesday with the charge of accepting bribe of Rs 10 lakh for a case connected to GST. The CBI’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Bhubaneswar branch arrested these three GST officials while accepting the bribe from a private engineering college. The person who was offering the bribe was also arrested. 

COVID-19 Vaccination Medical Essentials Reach Odisha

The medical essentials like syringes and Ice lined Refrigerators (ILRs) for the COVID-19 vaccination arrived in Odisha on Tuesday. According to the report, there are 26 ILRS and 21 lakh syringes that reached the State. Another 339 ILRS would be brought in the near future. Also, a database has already been prepared for the vaccination process. 

72 People Donate Blood at Paradip Blood Donation Camp

A voluntary blood donation camp organized at Paradip by a Paradip based NGO.  A total of 72 blood units were collected. This camp was held at “Shri Satya Sai Seva Samiti” premises. In this camp, many journalists, women, and activists were felicitated. Mr Ramakant Jena coordinated the whole camp. 

16 New COVID-19 Positive Cases Detected in Bhubaneswar

On Tuesday, 16 new COVID-19 positive cases were detected in Bhubaneswar. From these newly detected patients, 8 are from local contacts, and the rest are from various quarantine centres. 

Biraja Temple in Jajpur Reopens for Devotees

Maa Biraja temple in Jajpur reopened for devotees on Tuesday. The temple administration has set up separate barricades for male and female devotees. Also, the thermal screening process is going on for the devotees before they enter the temple. 

Police Officers Discuss Policing Topics at the Conference

At the 62nd Senior Police Officers’ Conference 2020,  police officers discussed various issues related to several policing subjects. Interpol Executive Director MM Oberoi addressed the conference. He spoke about the impact of cyber crime across the globe. Also, he discussed other issues involved in tackling cyber crimes.
