Wash the rice and Black Grams grind into a thick batter. Add Salt to the batter and leave it to ferment for 5-6 hours.
Take the grated Coconut in a pan and add Jaggery to it. Stir and fry till it becomes a little dry. Add Cardamom powder and Black Pepper powder to the pan, mix it well and keep it aside.
Take a wide mouthed pot. Fill it upto half with water. Tie a muslin cloth tightly to its mouth.
Take one whole green turmeric leaf. Take a little batter on the leaf and flatten the same.
Then take the required quantity of Coconut stuffings and put it on the batter. Make another layer of the batter on the sttuffings in such a way that the stuffing gets sandwiched
in between the two layers of batter.
Fold the Turmeric leaf (lengthwise) and place it on the Muslin cloth tied to the pot.
Cover it with a lid. Steam it till it gets cooked. Follow the same process to do more Pithas using the remaining batter.
