Salepur is located at 20.48 degrees North Latitude and 86.10 degrees Longitude. It has an average elevation of 27 m (89 ft). It is situated near the bank of river Chitrorpala. It is 25 kms away from Cuttack and 55kms from Bhubaneswar.

Salepur is a town in the district of Cuttack. It is also known as Salipur. It’s name is derived from two words Sali (paddy) and Pur (place).
