The presence of three remarkable Buddhist statues in Boudh, indicates that Boudh was once a center of Buddhist culture. One of the statue of height 6ft and 9 inches is present in Boudh town. The entire statue is built up in sections with carved stones.
The other statue measuring 5 feet is seen in the village of Shyamsundarpur, 40 km from Boudh. Locally it is known as Jharabaudia Mahaprabhu.
Another Buddha statue of height 3.5 feet is seen in the village Pragalapur which is at a distance of 2 km from Shyamsundarpur.
