Nagnatheswar Temple is situated near Nagena village in the district of Dhenkanal at a distance of about 20 kms from Dhenkanal city. The deity worshipped here is Lord Shiva, locally known as Sri Nagnatheswar Shiva. This temple was constructed during the reign of Keshari dynasty. It is the most ancient saiva temple. This temple is believed to be one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in the state. A Jyotirlinga (Awashyotirlinga) is said to be present in the Druka- Vana (Neem Forest) of the temple premises
Nagnatheswar temple can be reached from Dhenkanal city (20 kms) by hired taxi. Dhenkanal city is at a distance of 95 kms from Bhubaneswar. Both bus and rail services are available from Bhubaneswar to Dhenkanal.
