Ardhasani temple is situated on the Grand road in Puri, at a distance of about 3 km from Jagannath temple. The temple is completely whitewashed. Though it is not very big in structure but it has its own values.
The best time for visiting Ardhasani temple is on Rath Yatra. It is widely believed that on the way of returning from Gundicha temple to Jagannath Temple, Lord Jagannath halt near this temple to enjoy a special preparation of rice named ‘Poda Pitha’.
In this temple a legendary figure of Goddess Subhadra is worship. Myths are there that once Goddess Subhadra had saved Puri from flood by drinking half of the flood water. Ardhasani temple pays homage to this legendary figure of Goddess Subhadra.
