On the confluence of the river Kusabhadra and the Bay of Bengal, Ramchandi is a beautiful beach. Goddess Ramchandi, the presiding deity of the Konark region is worshipped here with admiration. However, there is lot of confusion over the presiding deity of the temple. Some people are of the opinion that the temple is dedicated to Goddess Ramachandi and this is why it is known as Ramachandi temple. But, there is another section of people who say that the temple is dedicated to Goddesses Mayadevi, the wife of Sun God.
It makes the perfect place to see the sun set and sun rise with the advantage of exciting adventure water sports and activities. Unlike most beaches, the waters at Ramchandi Beach are not turbulent and as there is a gradual slope due to which, it does not form high dangerous waves.
