Sakhigopal Temple

Sakhigopal temple is situated in Satyabadi at a distance of about 22 km from Puri. Sakhigopal temple resembles a miniature of the Puri Jagannath Temple. A life size idol of Lord Krishna with flute and Goddess Radha on his left side is paid homage in this temple. The images of the deities are very impressive. People believe that the idol of Lord Krishna was bought here by King Prataprudra Deva after winning battle against Kanchi. Lots of people visit this place to attend the annual fair on the day of Anla Navami in month of Kartika. It is believed that a visit to Puri Jagannath Temple for pilgrimage is incomplete without visiting Sakhigopal temple.

Puri is at a distance of 60 km from the state capital. Regular bus service is available from Bhubaneswar to Puri. Both the cities are also connected through rail. After reaching Puri, one can visit Sakhigopal temple by hired taxi or auto rickshaw.
