Cuttack boasts a wide range of transportation facilities, making travel convenient and accessible. Both roadways and railways offer multiple services to and from the city.

Cuttack may not have an airport, but step into the Netaji Bus Terminal and you might forget that—it feels like one. Nestled by the Kathajodi River, the terminal delivers the kind of exhilaration you would expect from an airport. It is built using modern technology to give travelers a truly airport-like experience.

Although Cuttack lacks a dedicated airport, the road network easily connects it to the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar, just 29 km away. Taxis, app-based cabs, and buses operate frequently between the two cities, ensuring smooth and quick transit.

Cuttack also serves as a major railway junction on the Kolkata–Chennai main line under the East Coast Railway zone, linking it to key cities across India. The Cuttack Railway Station (CTC) connects the city with Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and many others through regular express and superfast trains.

Local passenger trains and MEMUs (Mainline Electric Multiple Units) also connect Cuttack with nearby towns and cities.

Cuttack enjoys excellent road connectivity, with National Highway 16 (NH-16), part of the Golden Quadrilateral, passing through the city and linking it to major cities such as Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam, and Chennai.

Regular private and government-run buses (OSRTC) operate to and from Puri, Bhubaneswar, Sambalpur, Berhampur, and other cities. The Ama Bus initiative serves the city by providing affordable and frequent urban transport.

Auto-rickshaws, app-based cabs (such as Ola and Uber), and cycle-rickshaws are common modes of local transport within the city. Cuttack also offers rental services for cars and two-wheelers, catering to both residents and visitors. The Cuttack–Bhubaneswar twin-city corridor ensures smooth and fast travel between the two major urban centers, with a travel time of just 30 to 45 minutes.
