The Inception of “VISWAMUKTI” a socio-economic cultural organization(Trust) dates back to one late summer evening in 1974 along the banks of “Chilika Lake”. On that evening some of the leading poets, writers, painters, and architects were Sunil Gangopadhya, Sw ades Bharati, poet Shakti Chattopadhyay, sculptor Dr. Upendra Maharathi, Dr. Prasanna Patasani, and Dr. Debendra Nath Mansingh. Keeping these noble ideals in view a society bearing the title “Vishwamukti” was created. Even though some of them are not in this world today with us, their ideas will always remain a part of us. Later many new names joined this venture including Nationally renowned Hindi writer and translator Prof Sankarlal Purohit the editor of Vishwamukti Hindi magazine, Mrs. Sabita Das publisher of Vishwamukti and educationalist Prof Sasanka Chudamani, who is the editor of Manabikatara Vishwamukti since 1995. Imminent educational and social reformer, Hon’ble MP Dr. Achyuta Samanta & Miss. Sandhyabati Pradhan ex-chairman of OCPCR are also part of Vishwamukti as valuable advisors. Now Vishwamukti is a trust named VISWAMUKTI FOUNDATION TRUST. []
