Ansupa Lake

68 km West of Cuttack, lies the Ansupa lake in the Banki sub-division of Cuttack district. The Saranda mountains are to the west, and the Mahanadi river is to the south of this lake. Even though it’s small, it does not hesitate to captivate the eyes of the visitor. It is the home of various migratory birds in the winter. The play of the shadow of Saranda mountain and the surrounding bamboo and mango groves on the rippling waters of Ansupa makes it a real thing of beauty.

Ansupa is 70 km from Cuttack and 20 km from Raja-Athagarh Railway Station, connected with regular bus service. In this ornithologist’s paradise, you can hire a boat and enjoy the resonance of the water of this emerald green lake, blended perfectly with the cool breeze, while keeping an eye open for some rare avian species. Fishing is another privilege that delights the tourists. It is 20 km from Raj Athagarh Railway Station, and there is bus communication throughout the year.
