Bata Mangala Temple

Bata Mangala Temple is located at a distance of 3 km from Atharanala on the road leading from Puri to Bhubaneswar. The presiding deity of the temple is Goddess Mangala. In the Odia language, 'Bata' means 'Way', since Goddess Mangala is enshrined on the way to Shreekhetra, she is known as Bata Mangala. Bata Mangala Temple thus has its own spiritual importance. It is believed that the deity bestows blessings on the devotees before they enter the Sri Jagannath Temple .
