Gandahati Waterfall

The Gandahati Waterfall is one of the most prominent and attractive waterfalls in the Gajapati district. It lies around 27 km from Parlakhemundi. The waterfall is a popular tourist destination, particularly in winter, and attracts a large number of visitors. The Gandahati Waterfall covers an area of approximately 1,212.40 hectares and is about 20 metres high. In the past, the Zamindars of Parlakhemundi used Gandahati as an important center for tax collection. The name of the place suggests that elephants were once abundant in this region, although their numbers have dropped considerably.
