Maa Tarini Temple, Ghatagaon

Maa Tarini Temple stands in Ghatagaon at a distance of about 45 km from Keonjhar. This is the chief shrine of Goddess Tarini. Devotees offer a daily prayer to the deity. Every week, people observe Tuesday and Saturday as the days of Maa Tarini, and devotees gather in the temple to pay homage to the goddess on these days. Instead of priests, a group of tribal people called Dehuri performs the daily rituals. The main festivals that people celebrate in this temple are Makar Sankranti, Maha Visubha Sankranti, and Raja Sankranti.
