Debrigarh

The Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in the Bargarh district of the Indian state of Odisha, encompassing a total area of 346.91 km2. It plays a vital role in conserving local wildlife and their habitat, bordered to the east and north by the expansive Hirakud reservoir. The sanctuary is noteworthy for supporting both terrestrial and aquatic biodiversity, making it one of the select few in the state. This rich environment attracts a significant number of migratory waterfowl during the winter. Furthermore, Debrigarh is home to over 250 plant species, many of which possess ethno-botanical and medicinal value.
