Dhawaleshwar Temple is situated on an islet in the middle of the river Mahanadi in the district of Cuttack. The temple is established on the top of a tiny mountain peak. The major festivals of this temple are Shivratri and Bada Osa. Thousands of devotees gather on the full moon day of the Kartika month to observe Bada Osa. Dhawaleshwar Temple is at a distance of 5 km by water and 37 km by road from Cuttack city. Cuttack is at a distance of 30 km from the State capital.
