Baladevjew Temple
Shree Baladevjew Temple, located in Ichhapur, Kendrapara, Odisha, is a unique heritage shrine dedicated to Lord Baladeva, the elder brother of Lord Jagannath. An idol representing Tulasi as the Goddess in a seated position is also present after entry to the temple. Established in 1761 CE under Maratha ruler Raghuji Bhonsle, the temple is famous for its Swayambhu Mani Bigraha and the world-renowned Brahma Taladhwaja Ratha, the tallest chariot in the world. Beyond its spiritual significance, the temple is a cultural and culinary landmark, celebrated as the birthplace of Kendrapara Rasabali and offering 84 varieties of Mahaprasad. Preserving centuries-old rituals, festivals, and Odia traditions, the Baladevjew Temple in Kendrapara stands as a living symbol of Odisha’s religious and cultural heritage. It is located 15 km from Kendrapara town.
