The Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium is an international hockey stadium located in Rourkela, India. It is named after Birsa Munda, a famous tribal leader and freedom fighter. Authorities laid its foundation stone in February 2021 and inaugurated it on January 5, 2023. It is the fourth largest hockey stadium in the world, but unlike the others, it is the only hockey stadium with all seats — not terraces — built specifically for hockey matches.
With a staggering 20,011 seats, this sporting arena secured its place in history on January 29, 2023, when the Guinness World Records officially crowned it as the planet's largest fully seated hockey stadium.
