Balasore

Balasore, a coastal district in the northern part of Odisha, stands out for its rich history and vibrant culture. The name "Balasore" comes from the Persian word "Bala-e-Sor," meaning "city in the sea." According to local legends, the district also owes its name to Lord Baneshwar, a form of Lord Shiva. Balasore captivates visitors with its natural beauty, artistic heritage, serene sea beaches, and ancient temples.
